Faux Bacon is in the house aka Turkey Bacon

Along with celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, December brings with it all sorts of excitement.  We look forward to seeing family and friends that we don’t see very often, singing Christmas carols, watching once a year movies, wearing sweaters (ugly as some of them are) that can only be worn once a year. We hope for snow which rarely happens around here, we hope for cold weather at least but that often doesn’t happen either.  We decorate the house, bring in a tree, cook more than usual, certainly eat a lot more than usual, and just have a jolly feeling all in side.
In our house the thing that marks December is here, Christmas is near, is the sudden appearance of Turkey Bacon.
Yep, we can go all year without having turkey bacon, but we can’t make it through December without it.
The kids open the fridge and the first one to spot it usually yells, “Faux Bacon in the House” now we can get on with Christmas planning and celebrating.

So Have yourself a Merry lil’ Christmas and get some once a year goodies in the house that your family looks forward to and views as tradition.  That will put a smile on your face and give you warm fuzzies.

Other December goodies in our house are:
Pepper Jelly over cream cheese (best ever cracker spread)
Pumpkin Dip (used for dipping Ginger Snaps)
Triple Ginger Cookies that I always get from Trader Joe’s
Homemade Coconut Macaroons
Homemade Biscotti
Homemade Bon-Bons
Dipping a truck load of Pretzels
Making tons of Chocolate Peanut Clusters
Baking, baking, and more baking

Merry Christmas everyone!
